Northern Dutchess runs along the majestic Hudson River so it is not uncommon for someone buying a house in the area to ask: Are there marinas in Northern Dutchess?
You might think most people living along the Hudson have direct access to it, that is not the case. When the railroad tracks were constructed at the time it seemed like a great idea to put them right along the river. Today, I am sure it would not have been allowed. So, with that in mind most people now need to go to one of the Marinas to get access to the river. There are a few exceptions, for example, in Barrytown, a village in the Town of Red Hook, the train tracks went inland, so, if you happen to have a home in this area you will have direct access to the river.
This is a picture of Rhinecliff near the Amtrak Station. There is an overpass to a small dock which provides some access to the Hudson River.
Here are a few marinas you might consider if you are in Northern Dutchess.
