Fires in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas - Need Shelter for your horses?

If you know someone who needs shelter for their horses that live in the Fair Oaks area that is currently being evacuated due to a fire in Camp Bullis, please email The Boehm Team at amy@myboehmteam.com.  We know of an area that will take your horses in during this horrible fire.

The fire is located near Ralph Fair Road and Dietz Elkhorn Road.

Several fire departments, including the San Antonio Fire Department, are currently fighting the fire. Helicopters and planes will continue dropping water and fire retardant chemicals onto the flames and any structures they need to protect.

It was reported by Channel 4 News that approximately 110 acres have been burned.  They have started evacuations in the following areas.

  • Sable Chase subdivision
  • Residents who live along Ralph Fair Road

CPS Energy has cut power to 4500 customers in the Fair Oaks Ranch area. CPS Energy officials believe the power may be off for some time.  There have been several road closures, but we do  not know at this time which ones they are.

Amy what a great way to help out your neighbors in need.  I reblogged, "Tweeted", sent it to Linked In, and suggested this post.

I used to live in Dallas and have a little bit of an idea about how dry it can get down there.  Our friends in the area are worried sick.

Wish I could send you some of the water in our 10,000 Lakes (Minnesota).

We're praying for y'all.

These are really the forgotten victims of these fires.  The critters and the livestock can really be traumatized, if not severely injured by these wild fires.  It's really wonderful of you to help find temporary homes for these guys.

Amy: We need to keep praying for rain. I'm sure folks that have horses and other animals would appreciate any help. Hopefully they can get this fire under control quickly.

Patti, thank you so much for spreading the word.  The fires were contained as of 7 p.m. last night, but this was a resparked fire from the previous day, so your prayers are appreciated.

Doug, Carl & Ceil, thank you for your thoughts also, "where more than one is gathered" prayers are answered.

This morning on Good Morning America there was a Texas Couple and their three words for the day were "Texas Needs Rain"  Mine today are "Pray for Rain".

Amy,   That is great for you to assist when these families were in need.   We live not to far from Fair Oaks and it was pretty scary to see how close the fire came within all the homes and the elementary school.   My kids and I helped out to by taking Gaterade and some snacks to the fire fighters the next day.   Boerne is a great community where people come together to help their neighbors out.

Stephanie, one of the schools here in Boerne is collecting treats for the firefighters to repay them for their time and efforts.  I can't find the email right now, but if anyone is interested, I will look harder to find it.  It is very scary when you know what happened in Bastrop could have happened here.

We do live in a wonderful community!

Amy,  I think Curington is collecting Gaterade and waters for the firefighters.  No matter what elementary it is all the schools in Boerne do a great job in assisting families in need.
