Not long ago I was eating somewhere that was NOT my favorite place and I was wishing for the great service I always get when I'm at Bone Island Grill at Crooked Creek Marina. The food is always great, but I can guarantee you will get GREAT service at Bone Island Grill. And it's also very likely that the owner will stop by and chat with you.
The long hot summer we've had kept me inside the dining room for most of it, but today the air was crisp and in the mid 70's and we sat out on the porch and enjoyed not only our dinner, but Conner Pledger was entertaining as well. Who might be preforming if you eat at B.I. G toight? We even got to hear a couple of his original pieces over dinner. It was a fantastic evening to have dinner on the porch. I was a little jealous of the folks that arrived by boat, because it also looked like the perfect evening for a cruise around Lake Sinclair.
We started tonight with a southern staple, Fried Green Tomatoes. They were de-lish! Donald had Shrimp atouffee with a big slab of buttered cornbread. I had fried shrimp, grits and a baked potato. I also ordered a side of gravy because they had chicken fried steak with gravy on the menu as a special tonight and that's mouth watering gravy with bacon and it's wonderful for dipping a bite of potato and well even a shrimp. We were stuffed and even had to get a to go box, but I still couldn't pass up bread pudding, so we brought that home in a to go box as well. Of course there are lots of other choices on the menu at Bone Island Grill @ Crooked Creek Marina.
And in just over a week there will be a Boating Bonanza, I promise more details tomorrow. But it's Saturday September 17, 2011 and you don't want to miss it.
