Going green is not a political statement, it is not more expensive, and it is not complicated. Renovating a home to green standards is healthy, it lowers maintenance costs, and it saves you money. There is a lot of bad information circulating by those that do not understand green design fully. If you are interested in doing a green renovation to your home be sure to ask the 'green designer' some questions about past experience and success. Our firm has done multiple LEED certified homes, LEED NC homes, and have a long resume of measurable energy efficient results and clients that can tell the story.
Charles... all of the positive things you say about Green Restoration are true. Unfortunately, there are still way too many folks who do not understand that. Such silly and wasteful people.
Great picture... by the way. Nicely in proportion. Those really high two story photos are so hard to take... they often end up "warped"... if you understand what I mean. Very nice job.
I really like those high ceilings with so many windows, really nice, most homes don't have enough windows!
Karen, It is tough to have to fight through the bad information everyday. It is hard enough to fight against the economy alone. If those that don't really understand green design could stop spreading misinformation it would help greatly.
Thanks for your kind words for our design and my photography skills!
Jane, This renovation certainly had a lot of windows. This is the kitchen / living room and it is very bright. We controlled glare by using a light shelf and large overhangs.
