Ahh the Human Race (today's funny)

By

In case you needed further proof that the human race is doomed to stupidity, here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods.

On Sears hairdryer: "Do not use while sleeping.
(Gee, that's the only time I have to work on my hair.)

On a bag of Fritos: "You could be winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside."
(The shoplifter special.)

On a bar of Dial soap: "Directions: Use like regular soap."
(And that would be how . . ?)

On some Swanson frozen dinners: "Serving suggestion: Defrost."
(But it's *just* a suggestion.)

On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom of box): "Do not turn upside down."
(Too late!)

On Marks & Spencer Bread Pudding: "Product will be hot after heating."
(As night follows the day . . )

On packaging for a Rowenta iron: "Do not iron clothes on body."
(But wouldn't this save more time?)

On Boot's Children's Cough Medicine: "Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking this medication."
(We could do a lot to reduce the rate of construction accidents if we could just get those 5 year olds with head colds off those forklifts.)

On Nytol Sleep Aid: "Warning: May cause drowsiness."
(One would hope.)

On most brands of Christmas lights: "For indoor or outdoor use only."
(As opposed to what?)

On a Japanese food processor: "Not to be used for the other use."
(I gotta admit, I'm curious.)

On Sainsbury's peanuts: "Warning: contains nuts."
(Talk about a news flash.)

On an American Airlines packet of nuts: Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts."
(Step 3: Fly Delta.)

On a child's superman costume: "Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly."
(I don't blame the company. I blame parents for this one.)

thanks for the chuckle.

maybe they're selling too much of that Boots cough syrup in China, that's why there's so many product recalls.

Are you serious? I won't be able to fly in the superman costume?, there are NUTS in that can of peanuts? LOL! I want to know how many lawsuits it takes before the manufacturer puts an obvious disclaimer on their product. I'll ponder that on my way to McDonalds to get my scalding hot coffee......

On most brands of Christmas lights: "For indoor or outdoor use only."

as compared to "indoor AND outdoor use"?  Start stringing them in the living and end up on the roof?

Martin, I wonder where they find the people to write these warnings.

How funny...my mother in law scolded me a few months back after REMOVING THE TAG from new pillows.  She told me she has NEVER removed the tags from the pillows due to one of these silly messages.

Wow my brain is working in overtime trying to figure out what the other use might be.

Thanks for the laugh!  Is it just me or is there truly a major dumbing down of the human race these days?  Every time I see a warning label like those you posted, I giggle at the mental picture I get of what really happened to have it placed there in the first place.

Thanks again and Happy Friday!

Diana, if you figure it out, let me know.

Tammi, I have to agree with the "dumbing down" portion. I guess it is more and more to protect people.

Don't know if this is the only reason but most of these labels are from people doing really stupid stuff and then suing the companies for damages because they didn't warn the consumer!  Common sense would go a long way!!

Really funny anyway! Makes you wonder.......are we regressing as a species?
