Looking for a way to honor our 9/11 victims and their families?  Here is a list of local ceremonies/events in South Orange County:

 

Mission Viejo - 10th Annual 9/11 Fundraiser  Cost $10- 15 per person.  5K walkathon begins at 9:11 a.m., at the Irvine Spectrum.  Pancake breakfast before the race, games and vendor booths.  For tickets:  www.shbllp.com/?page_id=15

 

San Clemente- The Veterns Of Foreign Wars will distribute Buddy Poppers, handmade lapel pins made by disabled war veterans and war widows, as a reminder of that fateful day.

 

Also, Jay Bellamy, local sand sculptor will create a memorial sand art sculpture depicting the Twin Towers, Pentagon and the hijacked airliner on the beach just noth of the pier.

 

 

San Juan Capistrano -Western Horseshow at Sycamore Trails Stable  Western trainers will host a show to honor 9/11 victims and raise money to give to fallen firefighters and their families.

Sycamore Trails is located at: 26282 Oso Rd., San Juan Capistrano.  Show starts at 11:00 a.m.

 

Laguna Woods - Freedom Walk.  The walk begins at 9:00 a.m. at Clubhouse 1 and ends at the Laguna Woods City Hall.  Memorial service to follow.  For more information: www.lagunawoodsvillage.com.

 

Trabuco Canyon - 9/11 Rembrance Ride.  Ride begins at Cooks Corner.  Riders will follow a fire engine down El Toro Rd. to Marine Vista Park in Long Beach.  Memorial service to follow.  Contact 949 858-0266 for more information.

Seems like there are lots of great activites--many of which focus on 9/11. Very cool.

It made me very happy to report that so many cities where doing something to remember 9/11!  I am hoping that everyone can find something local to attend.
