Piedras Blancas Light Station in San Simeon has awesome tours with spectacular sites. The tours include the historic light house, support buildings, wildlife viewing and spectacular scenery along a half mile trail.
See anything from pelicans, hawks, swallows to otters, whales, seals, sea lions and also the giant elephant seals. The elephant seals are amazing that they lounge on the beach and come from miles away. You would think they are so huge that they would be slow in the sand, but can outpace a person easily.
The whales you can see from a distance and can be either orcas, humback whales and blue whales. Once can also get glimpses of dophins breaking the surface with ease.
