Manassas, VA: Too Good to Waste at the PWC Landfill
If you ever have something you feel guilty about throwing away, throw it in your car (if you live in Prince William County, VA anyway) and take it to the landfill off of Dumfries Road. The attendant will point you in the direction of the Too Good To Waste area.
This past weekend, I accompanied my husband on a quest for junk bicycles. He's got an idea of a bike he wants to make from scrap parts. Anyway, we had read about the section of the Prince William County landfill called "Too Good to Waste" and figured that would be the place to look. I envisioned us sifting through a junk lot of stuff, all by ourselves. Not the case.
The "Too Good to Waste" area of the PWC Landfill is a corrugated metal building. And oddly enough, it was fairly picked through. There were plenty of folks there looking at the items they could haul away for nothing. Chairs, sofas, a bookcase and even a toilet. Not a bike to be found.
If you are in the market for something considered "Too Good to Waste" by the Prince William County Landfill, the hours of operation are posted below. The landfill is located at 14811 Dumfries Road in Manassas.
