I know my favorite Magazines/Journals have to have the fallowing:

-Fantastic and Colorful Photography (because as A Photographer I value them precious)

-Engaging and Useful Articles and Tips

-Accurate Historical and Well Written Articles or

-Entertaining and Informative Articles

-Worth the $$$$$!

Birds and Blooms

So here are a  few I recommend taking a look at and why:

BBC History Magazine- Among the most concise and engaging of all Historical Magazines and Journals. Includes Great Articles for all areas of Historical interest.

Birds and Blooms Magazine- Perhaps the most beautiful full color photos of birds in any magazine or Journal anywhere. No Adds and No mess... just plain fun for anyone who loves backyard birding and gardening

The Outdoor Photographer- Great full color shots for inspiration and diverse articles on the latest effects and techniques in the outdoor world of photography

The English Garden- Incredible garden photos from around Europe and useful garden tips for the more experienced gardener. Few adds and a joy to read!

Fine Cooking Magazine- Superb photos and recipes presented in a clean and delightful manner. One of the best cooking magazines money can buy!

Realm- If you have a love affair with Europe and in particular Brittan, Ireland, and Scotland than Realm may be worth a look. Great Historical and Travel articles and full color photos of gardens, manor homes, castles, and various places of interest.

Period Living- Is a great home decorating and living magazine that is charming and useful. Anyone into Home Staging should take a look at this magazine. It is nothing short of inspirational!

What are some of your favorites and why do you like them so much???

Shellee, my wife is the magazine reader in our household.  She reads Architectural Digest because she likes pretty houses, some kind of Angel magazine because she likes the nice stories, and fashion magazines, i.e., Elle, so she knows what to shop for!  Me, I just spend too much time on ActiveRain.

Shellee - I have personally subscribed to a couple of these, but want to check out the rest you mentioned.  I love travel and travel magazines, so want to check out Realm!  If I had a greener thumb, I would check out The English Garden.  I like to look at the photographs though, will take a look.

Shelle, I have to admit I am not a big magazine reader.  I have had several subscriptions and then they usually just sit around.  I'm doing good to get all the real estate magazines read that come along.  On the other hand I love reading books so I guess I spend my magazine time on books.  I'm about to end book 4 of Harry Potter the second time around.

You appear to subscribe to some beautfiul magazines by the titles.

Robert- I read more Novels and Non-fiction myself too but I cant help picking up some of the better magazines when I am out watching my kid play at Barnes and Nobles.

Candy- Realm is great, you will love it. I can lend you an issue whenever you like!

Deborah-  I am sure you would love Period Living. Look it up when next you are in a book store.

Marchel- Hey real estate magazines count too! You should list some of the ones you like best.

I know I am at my local book store much more often than is probably good for me... I wish I could cut it down to once a week. I would get a lot more chores done that way!

Shellee...National Geographic without a doubt.  For me, every photo should be winning a prize.  I love the variety.  So many of them are absolutely unbelievable.

Cheers, Kathleen

I had a subscription to the English Garden at one time.  I think I got it mostly for the photography, although I was so into gardening then too.

I also like Architectural Digest, a magazine called Dream Bedrooms and Beautiful Homes.  (Most of mine tend to be decorating magazines!).

My favorite magazines have very few ads!

Shellee, I don't get a chance to read nearly as often as I'd like but my vote is with Realm as well!  I love Europe and will look for it when I'm in the bookstore.  Thank you for the information!
