Minnesota Acreage Barns With Character by Teri Eckholm REALTOR

Years ago I travelled along Hwy 101 almost weekly on trips from college in Mankato to my home in North St. Paul. There were a few icons that marked the trail and the big 7up silo was one of them. The barn was aging as was the fading colors of the giant 7up can. On a more recent trip, I noticed a remarkable facelift. Cambria, the natural stone counter surface that is an alternative to granite, has it's manufacturing plant just down the road. They repaired the barn and silo and gave the aging 7up can a whole new look. What a picture perfect roadside distraction that is Uniquely Minnesota!

Previously being from Minnesota (mini-soda) that is appreciated.

Now I'm in Sierra Vista, AZ near Fort Huachuca, Az.

Not quite as green here, yet pleasant and sunny.

That is a great marketing idea. It restored a beautiful barn and created a new landmark. :)

That's a quintessential scene, which represents Americana at its finest.  I am the first generation in my family to not farm.  Yet something inside me bonds with these kinds of pictures.  Barns and silos remind me so much of the farms of my uncles in Kansas.  Although Kansas never seemed to have that abundance of green incorporated into the scene.  Wonderful picture, Teri.

Teri-That is a great way to repurpose. That was a great way to recycle. I like they were able to keep the original lines of the old barn and did not put up the typical metal building.

Hi Teri, That is quite a makeover. I love this and don't even mind the advertising. It was done in very good taste and the barn on that site deserved to be saved. Great photo capture!
