How often do you google yourself or business for accuracy? You could be missing out on free leads...

Are you looking to increase your leads, website traffic and online accuracy?    What if I told you it's free?   Go to Google and search your name and key terms related to your position/occupation.    For me, I usually test "Mary Mitten Real Estate".    At this time I have 560,000 results when using this exact Google phrase.     If you are not aware, the results are ranked by volume so the higher that provider's web rank, the higher it's relevance and ability to gain free leads.     I would suggest you concentrate on your first 5 pages of Google ranked websites as this will yield the highest results.

When I first began this monthly inspection 2 years ago, I found many free websites with my name as a real estate agent, but inaccurate information.     This is because I moved 4 times in my career.   I noticed that many of these free online advertisers had inaccurate info (phone numbers, email addresses), as well as completely blank profiles and empty links to my own personal website.    This included well known websites such as Manta, Zillo, Trulia, Realtor.com, Homes.com and many others.    The scary thing is some of my free leads were going to my prior real estate companies or brokers (my competition).      If you correct or enhance these free profiles, you stand to eventually increase your leads to both your website/email and phone as time goes on.   Gradually increasing your leads equates to more chances to earn income.

I also now carefully watch my website statistics and "referrers".     I have noticed many of these corrected profiles are now popping up as first time referrers right away so it's evident you must correct things sooner than later.

Additionally, my website traffic has continually increased to over 1,000+ unique users every month.    This has doubled just in the last year since I have focused on correcting Google ranked websites as well as hyperlinking and blogging.   I now have bragging rights for more listings because I can demonstrate my effectiveness as a web marketer.     After all, we have a professional obligation to do our best to sell our client's homes for the best price in the shortest amount of time.     Give it a try & good luck finding your free pot of golden leads.

I check myself on Google frequently to see what terms I'm coming up under and if there are any specific terms my competitors are using better than I am.  I'll blog or make other adjustments to help improve my ranking as much as possible.

Bryan:

Great advice.    I too check all relevant terms relative to the rank of all key terms that are important to my area without my name.      My goal is to find myself ranked within the top 2 pages of each related Google phrase.   As you get more advanced you can mimic your competition on those terms if they are more effective.
