September 11, 2011 - A Weekend We Won't Forget
In respect of those who lost their lives on that fateful day 10 years ago, I am not going to try to write some profound prose that will send everyone searching for a tissue box. People more worthy than I have written, spoken, sung and prayed both for those who died in honor and those who lived to tell their stories.
Hopefully we have all learned a lot about ourselves, our families, our communities and our country since that day. I know we have. We learned that life is short and that you are never guaranteed to see another sunrise or sunset. Therefore, when you are so blessed to enjoy one or the other - be still and enjoy.
We learned that friends and family can be taken from you in the blink of an eye and that you should value relationships. When you have a chance to spend time with those you care about that you should enjoy it to the fullest.
We had that opportunity this weekend. Four friends together. Laughing, cooking, eating, motorcycle riding and simply enjoying life.
Thank you to our friends Jerry and Vicki for sharing their camper at the Lake with us. It truly was a memorable weekend!!!
