Restoring Older Homes Can Be Fun and Interesting.

This gracious lady is the childhood home of the current owner who inherited it fr'm his mother who passed away in June.  She designed this house and is it was a Charlotte showplace in it''s day...1957.  Frank Sinatra would be right at home!  The current owner's wife says the first time her husband took her home to meet his mother she thought she was so impressed.

Now it just needs someone to restore it to it'so former glory.  Situated in one of the best school districts in town, close in location near two of the most desirable neighborhoods in Charlotte...Myers Park and Cotswold and  the best shopping at Southpark and great restaurants.

Home renovations can be fun and more interesting than building new from scratch.  It also can connect you to the community that gives you a send of place.   They say it is all about location, location and location.  If that is true this home place has it going on!

Older homes which were built well deserve to be restored.  Todays workmanship cannot compare to the detail of homes built 50 years ago.  All they need is a little elbow grease and updating.

How great to be able to keep a home in the family especially when it is a showplace like this one. Hope you will post follow up pictures when they are done with the rehab.

Bonnie, you are so right!  We renovated a home built in 1940 a few years ago and added some space on the second floor.  The wood they took out of the house was so hard they could not drive a nail through it. I know the wood that went into the new addition wasn't even close in  substance to what we had to throw away!

David, I hope we get an offer soon from someone who appreciates what they have there.  We have had 10 showings so far and I am ready to reduce it.  10 showings and no offers or 30 days and no showings means the place is overpriced.
