Temporarily in the Sand but Forever in our Hearts - 9/11 Sand Sculpture

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty TN R.E. License 292369

The end of August we had the chance to attend the New York State Fair while visiting my family in Syracuse.  I was blown away by the detail in this sand sculpture commemoration the Heroes of 9/11.  It was near completion here and I did not have the chance to return to see the finished work.

Thanks to the sculpture Patrick Harsch who uses his time and talent in a medium which only has permanence is in our memories and photos taken.  The 10th anniversary remembrance of 9/11 was present through-out the NY State Fair.  Check out the video for music details from all sides.

WOW I think I'll leave my bucket and shovel home next time I go to the beach.

Mike, very nice. Working with sand is so difficult and I admire those that can do it!

I'm often awed by the creations these artists bring forth from sand.

Great post,

It matters to us as much as it matters to you.

I am amazed too Steve, and curious about the drive for people to spend so much effort into something that will be gone in days.  Ice sculptures similarly so Connie and Pamela.  I will watch others do their thing with the sand on the beach Cindy.
