If you count your blessings, are happy, joyful, some kind of glad you have a family, enjoy what you do for work, then the rest is not so apt to bother you. Attitude, reaction is a choice. How you look at things can be adjusted. Come at it from an entirely different angle.
Rich, Thank you for a post that I needed to hear today. Often, you need to remove yourself from things you have no control of and are not good in your life. Tough decisions but healthy decisions. And then....remember everything you have to be grateful for!
Good post. Most people have no idea that they are in charge of their own emotions. I use this example with teens:
Suppose John told Fred you are stupid. Does that make you angry? Of course not, you don't even know he said it.
Now, suppose Fred tells you that John said you are stupid. Does that make you angry? Possibly. If so, some logic will show that John saying you are stupid didn't make you angry, but it was your own REACTION to what he said. You made yourself angry.
Understanding that other people or circumstances do not control your emotions, but rather you are in charge of your own emotions will make a positive change in your life ;)
