Your Account Has Been SUSPENDED !!!

If you use Twitter (and you definitely should be) you need to be aware should you receive this email, this has been going around and it is a scam/spam email.  There are some things you can do to safeguard yourself.

First check out the email, (posted below) doesn't seem likely that Twitter would have you "complete some offers" in order to do anything with your account. Also be sure to hover your mouse over the links to see where they will be leading you. Just hover over the "click here...." link and you will see that it would be sending you to a free offers site. Spam, Spam, Spam

Always to be sure go to your Twitter account and check and see if you are truly suspended, it will notify you at the top of your account usually in a color header bar of the suspension.

As far I know these emails are not a virus, merely a spam email, however it never hurts to avoid any such email. Take the time to report it to Twitter so the IP address can be dealt with by the Twitter staff.

See email below, and feel free to pass around....

Spamming is everywhere. Yuk. I agree that this email asking you to click on free offers after saying they suspended your acoount is ludricous. I click on nothing, ever. Its a delete in my book

It's because people have shared this kind of information, Gerry, that I even realized it was spam when I received it from craigslist. Thanks for posting. I didn't realize it was going around twitter, too.

You might add a suggestion to never click on an email from an AOL account with nothing but a link to click on. A lot of peope have had their AOL accounts hacked by doing this & about the only way to stop it is to open a new account and close the old one.

It never ceases to amaze me how spending one's time creating viruses and causing many people painful experiences is fun to some folks.

Yeah, the amount time spent doing something such a waste of time is beyond me. As long as we all keep informing eachother, we'll get by

Gerry, you just never know anymore!! There are so many emails I get from accounts that I supposedly have, suspended here, no transfer there... You never know anymore. We have to be so careful. Thanks for your informative post. Have a great day!

Thanks for posting this, Gerry.  I just opened a Twitter account (yes, I know, I'm way behind on this!)   I'll be on the look out for it now.
