Part VI - Recap before the Big Move

By
Real Estate Agent with Florida Homes Realty & Mortgage LLC

A synopsis of part VI on moving that I recently posted on my website. I have really peared the article down,

1. You have packed and are ready to move. Check the attic and the yard for items that you may have hidden there. These items may have to be deposited into a safe deposit box. Pack a phone book from your current residence; it may come in handy at your new residence. Write down the new address of the future residence and put it in your wallet. Check that you have all the medical records for the two legged and four legged members of the family. Drying cleaning can be kept in the bags supplied by the dry cleaner.

2. Get rid of flammable or combustible products that should not be shipped. Also drain any equipment, such as lawn mowers to prevent oil leaks and gasoline leaks. Paint cans, thinner, bleach, oil may require special handling; check with your garbage collectors to determine the correct way of disposing of these items. Propane tanks require special handling.

3. Review that all your boxes have been correctly labeled; fragile, this side up, the area of the house the box is destined for, the individual's name who the items belong to, and if some boxes should be unloaded first, mark those as priority boxes.
