Boy am I disappointed!

Services for Real Estate Pros with Marte Cliff Copywriting

Earlier today I swas reading a blog that had some really cool graphics - a little gold colored man wheeling around Idaho snow scenesome gold colored money...

I've seen those golden stick figures before and wondered where they got them, so today I looked at the image information and found that it said "Active Rain image_store."

I thought that must mean that there were images that could be purchased through Active Rain.

So tonight I went in search of the "Image Store."

Well darn, there isn't one. Every image we upload gets that label. It doesn't mean "Image Store," it means that the image is stored. Phooey!

I'd STILL like to know where to get those graphics, but unless someone writes to tell me, I guess I'll just wait until I see one of them on a blog again, then write to the person who used them. (Why didn't I think of that before??)

Why the snow scene?

Two reasons: One is that I didn't have a photo that fit this post.

The other is that it's a gift... For everyone who is suffering from the heat, you can gaze at this scene and feel cold. Here in the North Idaho mountains, this picture will be reality soon enough.

Marte, first of all I'm sorry I can't help.  Second, I think it's funny that you couldn't find a photo that fit your post so you went ahead and put one in anyway, lol!  And third, thanks for the snow scene...we need it down here in TX!

Marte-I hope you find the graphic for which you are looking. I like things warm and hope not to see snow this year. A bit of rain would be nice, but I'm a warm weather guy.

Marte---I subscribe to iclipart.com.  It's a good resource for those funny little figures...and there are decent photos if you search for them.  Still think using our own stuff is the best way to go!  Love the winter scene...

Greg - Maybe if we could send a whole lot of snow it would douse those fires. Of course, we don't have any yet either, but it will arrive soon enough.Adding that photo tonight was just a bit of nonsense. (Gotta have it!)

Wayne - I like warm weather too - but I agree. We need rain about now. Everything is just too dry - the woods are ripe for a fire here too.

Kirsten - thanks. I'll check that out. I agree that our own photos are best, but not enough of mine fit what I'm writing about. I use Dreamstine, but that's just photos. I'd like to have some classy looking graphics now and then - like the little gold men.

I think facebook has ruined us.  All I wanted to do was "like" this post and there was no darn thumb to like it so I had to comment instead :-) -Kasey

Hi Marte - You may be able to find something you like at ShutterStock or iStockPhoto. Browse through the illustrations until you find a style you like, and then look at that designer's portfolio for more.

Oh, that is so funny.  If you go to you comments section on your home page, you can see the posts where you left comments.  Maybe that will help you find it.

I use Microsoft Publisher for my clip art.  They have some snazzy stuff.

This blogger wrote a list of 75 sites to get free clipart.  There are several where the art is actually "free".

John - thanks, I'll have a look there.

Debbie - Good idea - maybe if I look at the post titles I'll remember where I saw it.

Chris Ann - I do need to invest in Publisher again. I have an ancient version on my old computer but it doesn't offer much.

Bryan - Thanks! I'll check into that.
