Dinosaurs, Extra Terrestrials and Killer Wave Surfing.  Sound Interesting? Check it out!

One of Albuquerque’s center piece attractions is the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science.  The museum exhibits explore back through billions of years with a look at he Origins of the Universe to current.  You will also enjoy stunning displays of Dinosaurs from the smallest to the incredible giants that traversed our planet. Additionally there are exhibits on Volcanoes, New Mexico’s Seacoast, Caves, The Ice age, space exploration and so much more.

Incorporated into the Museum is the amazing Lockheed Martin DynaTheater which is acclaimed as the first digital 2D/3D 4k projection system.  This incredible experience all happens on a five-story screen. The Dolby surround audio and 3D system are outstanding! My wife and I enjoyed a production called “The Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D”  Where champion surfer Kelly Slater does some killer wave surfing.  I now know what it’s like to surf those killer waves. Wow, I think we left  wet it was so real.

A state of the art Planetarium is also on site and provides outstanding programing teaching everything from planets, stars, asteroids to moon journeys, the space age and even a look at the New Mexico  skies as we see them.  A current program is called “Impact Earth” focusing on the many dangers to Earth that exist deep in space.  Don’t miss the Search for Extra Terrestrials either.

Plan a full day to enjoy all three of these exciting adventures all under one roof.

If you’re considering the sale or purchase of an Albuquerque or Rio Rancho home it would be our pleasure to help you.  We're easy to remember and just as easy to find.

Hi John - Well, somehow I've missed that on both occasions I was in the Q - but I won't make that mistake again. It sounds like a great museum and well worth the time to visit. Thanks for the post.

Hi John~ What amazingly large creatures roamed the earth millions of years ago! A reminder of how far we have come as a species... I wonder if they will say that about us a million years from now! :)

Thanks for a fun trip to New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science!

Best regards from Seattle,

Hi Toni -

Thanks for dropping by today.  Indeed it's a very good place to visit.  We've been several times and never seem to tire of it.  One of Albuquerque's top things in my humble book.

Hi Judi -

Working on those Localism's you know :)  Indeed this is one of Albuquerque's coolest Museums to me.  One needs to wear good walking shoes you're not going to want to leave once you get there!  Amazingly cool.

Good Afternoon Debra -

You're right Albuquerque has so much neat culture to offer.  Since starting the Localism contest it's made me take note of things I might have other wise over looked.  That alone is worth more than the winning points.  Well the points will be nice too!

Yes that's my voice over.  Okay... you can stop laughing now.  It's on my To Do list to get a descent microphone.  The one I have is 8 + years old and pathetic.  Just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything on the ever growing To Do list done.

Best regards from the Q

John, my family loves that museum!  I haven't been in many years since I moved to Utah, but remember they had a lot of fantastic exhibits.

Hi Erika -

So glad to hear from you.  So you use to live in Albuquerque?

Indeed the exhibits are outstanding!  My wife actually held live snakes which I thought I'd never see happen!  We had not even noticed the live animal / reptile part of the Museum on our first several visits.  They recently updated the I-Max 3-D to a five story screen which really is amazing.  We have a larger gift shop and snack bar too.  It's a good way to spend a day of relaxing, enjoying and education.

Best regards from the Q

Hi William -

Wow what a compliment and to be suggested!  I am honored and thank you.  Admittedly it did take some time to get the audio on this figured out.  I'm still a greenhorn on these You-Tubes.  I think this was my 7th one and each time I seem to end up using a different program.

We do enjoy this particular Museum and find ourselves there several times a year.  We really like the IMax and the Planetarium.  Of course it's always tons of fun when we see it through the eyes of the grand-kiddos.

Thanks again and best regards from the Q

Hi Brad -

Whew I must admit it's been a tough month trying to get my post in the Localism contest but I only have a couple more to go.  I'm so green when it comes to video thanks for the encouragement.  Your kind words are greatly appreciated.  This post took me several hours as the video kept jamming up and then to learn how to phase in and out the audio.  Yikes!  I'm still on the search for the perfect You-Tube program to use.  If you have input I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Make it a great day in the Rain and best regards from the Q
