With a hundred days to go, September 16 marks the last of the three digit number of days until the Christmas shopping season ends. For almost everyone, it hasn't yet begun, and we will complain that retailers are rushing us. We will complain until we start worrying that there doesn't seem to be as much time as we need to get everything completed on time. It happens every year, doesn't it?
Many folks know that they would be happier, and that their families would be better off, if they were to find another place to live that fits them better. Maybe there is a shortage of bedrooms, maybe the backyard doesn't exist, or it's just not situated to be a good place for the kids to play. Maybe the neighborhood doesn't exactly fit their idea of where the home should be located. There are numerous and multiple reasons why many of us would prefer to live somewhere else.
How many home-shopping days are there until the end of the season? Nobody knows, and there are a number of partial ends to the home-shopping season. The kids will grow up and move away. That will be one solution to the lack of bedrooms. Eventually, the old place may start to have more maintenance and updating than we can keep up with and will lose more value than others like it. Perhaps the opposite will occur, with the other homes deferring too much maintenance, and neighborhood values affecting the well-maintained homes. All the while, many folks are homeowners who would rather be somewhere else, but they're delaying their lifestyle upgrade, maybe until infinity.
Infinity? Yes, that's quite a while, isn't it? We can delay the decision to improve our lives and our families right up until our days on earth come to an end with a new home just another thing on an incomplete list. A new home is a dream of many people, and dreams are meant to come to fruition before they become nothing but missed opportunities.
