We just spent a few days in the charming city of Charleston, SC. It is a wonderful place to visit. There are many unique hotels and inns in which to stay, many right downtown. There are also some fantastic restaurants including The Peninsula Grill, Slightly North of Broad, Hyman's, Robert's of Charleston, just to name a few. If you are into art or antiques, there are numerous shops to choose from. There are carriage, boat, bus and walking tours of the city. Some of the homes are also open. Slightly west of the city near Summerville are the plantations, Magnolia, Middleton Place and Drayton Hall. Middleton and Magnolia both offer beautiful gardens and Middleton gives you a taste of life in the 1800's. Boone Hall, where Gone With The Wind was filmed is located north of the city in Mount Pleasant. All of these are worth the time to see. No visit to Charleston would be complete without a stroll along the Battery. Charleston has a beautiful park overlooking the harbor. Boat tours are available to Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie is a short drive away on Sullivan's Island. So, for a weekend trip or a week, Charleston is a beautiful City.

Charleston is a fun place to visit, especially if you enjoy history and architecture. The old homes are gorgeous and the forts are interesting.
