They bought and went MIA

By
Real Estate Agent with Central Properties LLC

One year ago I helped a client buy their first home. Nothing excites me more than to help someone accomplish something they never thought would be possible. This client got a wonderful deal …..Don’t mean to toot my own horn but……….However I pride myself on building relationships, not just for my business, but I just love making friends. Well I have this one client THE ONLY client who I have not heard from since they purchased  their home, well I’m being dramatic I talked to them a month later to see how things were going. Usually I call, text or email my sphere on a monthly bases I also send hand written thank you notes. This particular client has changed their email and phone number so my last resort is to send cards, but I never get a call saying Nicole I received your card thank you, how have you been?

I’m new to this industry but I know that relationships are important.

Do you guys have clients that you have not heard from since they bought or sold their homes despite your efforts to keep in touch?

Ps. This is my first blog post as a rainmaker!!!!!!

Good first blog, Nicole.  And yes, there are clients who actually want to stay in touch and there are others who drop off the face of the earth.  You can't take it personally because they viewed the transaction as business only instead of a "relationship".  But don't give up and don't stop sending them cards!  You never know when that phone will ring.

Hi Nicole.

There is nothing more gratifying than being able to build a relationship with your client as this is the gateway to future referrals. If this is the only client who have not responded despite your efforts to keep in touch, do not sweat it out. There are people in this world who are not too sociable or shall we say, just want to be left alone after the business is done.

Best.

Maria

Congrats on being a rain maker. I have clients like that But i will tell you a story. I sold a tract to a first time buyer. About a month later i went by to see how he was doing on his building. He was happy to see me. His fiance called while I was there and he said, You will never guess who I am standing here talking to". It was obvious that she thought we would never see each othe again. it was also obvious that he really appreciated my visit. So I learned to stay in touch. Whether they respond or not stay in touch

Welcome! Sadly, not everyone is going to respond and it's NOT a reflection of how great a job you have done for them. It's just the way it is. Best of luck but you look to have things under control already!

I just had a client who did the same thing - three years ago, I sent a note on the anniversary of their purchase.  And last month, they called me with the name of a close friend who needed an excellent Realtor...  being in it for the long hauls pays off.
