Sometimes there are signs of improvement

It was a lovely day in Murray UT - just the right amount of everything, sunshine and shade, flowers and green grass. And I believe in working open houses. More people pass me there than pass my desk the whole week.

My office has this 70s condo listing (cameo style development) that I took on at short notice barely scraping advice into the MLS yesterday. I had picked 1 - 4 pm. Between my looking at the property late yesterday and arrival time today, some 15 agents had left their cards and comments,  (and their footprints) to give a real trafficked look to the place.

The three hours extended to nearly four as people occupied the condo for the entire time with interest and comment. Some were looking for themselves or parents, others (already living in the complex) on behalf of friends who had expressed interest in in moving there. "If not this one, what is available". I listened intently.

Strange that this property has been on the market for 90 days with little previous interest.

Maybe the hints of Fall intensify ideas of nesting.

It was a great day to be alive in Murray UT. My coming week is sure to be busy with follow up of today's eagerly proffered details.

Larry, glad you're open house was so productive.  It seems that once the kids are back in sschool and the temperatures cool off a little, the lookers are back out in full force.

Hi Larry, unless you're school year is all round, it could be that they are now back to school as Leah mentioned. I'll be holding one open tomorrow in an area that I've been told is not "open house productive" so many agents stopped doing them. I've teamed up with a couple other agents to have their's open as we shall see. Hopefully yours being busy is a great sign.

Leah - definitely effect of cooler weather comes into play. Not sure about school timing. Probably something in it.

JoAnn - definitely my personality :-0 Had to get to my advanced age to be described recently as "cute".

Dagny - Definitely. There's gold in the basics, along with hard work.

Cindy - hope you do well. Like fishing when others say they are not biting. Be the one to persevere and catch one, then lines go in everywhere as the experts change tune.

Wayne - I like both aspects of your comment. New buyers in the pool can create new excitement and endeavor.

WOW Larry that is great... I don't do so good at open houses so I don't have them anymore. GASP! Did I say that out loud? Well if the client wants me to I will. But mostly not.

Sussie - It has to be personal choice. Snow and ice test my resolve in winter for open houses, especially where I can't get access.for my chair.

Hi Larry!  YES< homes matter, and I think that's the real 'shadow' market-people who really do want to buy, can buy and are ready to buy, who are lurking out there, a sunny weekend away from choosing to get on with their life, and putting down roots. Thanks for sharing what you're seeing!
