All of the recent rain has been wonderful for our depleted reservoirs. However, we still need a lot more to resupply over the winter months.
Rain of the magnitude we've had over the past several days has probably left some evidence of repairs thet need to be made to a roof prior to the frigid winter months.
Additionally, it will be wise to clean out the gutters as soon as the majority of the leaves are off the trees. Clogged gutters prevent water from draining off the roof. If the water freezes in the gutters it can back up under the shingles and cause major roof damage, not to mention damage to the ceilings and walls when the ice that formed under the shingles thaws
Finally, it is important that you turn off the water supply to the exterior spigots and then open those spigots to let the water drain from them.
