Stunning Albuquerque Sunsets During Destructive Wildfires.

Albuquerque NM is known to have some of the most gorgeous sunsets. This year the New Mexico and Arizona destructive wildfires of late spring and early summer brought blowing dust and soot over our area in the atmosphere but the positive results was some incredible sunsets. On some late afternoons the Albuquerque sky would actually look like it  was on fire or bleeding. This meld of events offered up some absolutely stunning beauty that would make anyone stop in awe of Mother Nature here in the High Desert.  Notice in some of these photos the smoke and soot.

Good morning Debb -

Yes indeed that's how we looked at the wildfires that we got to enjoy amazing sunsets.  Some days were rough the smoke, dust and soot was so thick it looked like nighttime.  Those were bummer days but we're grateful for all the firefighters and volunteers did to keep everyone safe.

Hi Dick and Mary -

Glad you could drop by today.  Albuquerque is known for it's fabulous sunsets but the smoke, ash, soot and dust brought by the wildfires really made most afternoons brilliant with color.

Have a great weekend and best regards from the Q

Hi Belinda -

Good to see you today.  Yes Raton had a big fire to contend with.  I couldn't agree with you more I hope we've seen the last of wildfires for a long, long time to come.  We are still in dire need of moisture so we're praying and doing rain dances anything to bring it on.

Hope you and yours enjoy a wonderful first day of Fall and best regards from the Q

Greeting George and Arlene -

So good to see you in the Rain today and thanks for dropping by!  You're right there was a large amount of destruction.  We're so very thankful and grateful to all the many volunteers and firefighters that worked non-stop to prevent anymore devastation than we had.

Best regards from the Q

Hello Erica -

Yes we always look forward to Albuquerque's amazing sunsets.  The fires just intensified the colors and beauty.  You're right the 3rd photo does look upside down.  A break in the clouds and smoke created that cool effect.

Enjoy the first full day of Fall and make it a great day in all you do.

Best regards from the Q

Hi Joni -

Appreciate you dropping by in the Rain today.  Thanks for the high compliment on Albuquerque sunset photos.  We are truly blessed with awesome sunset especially in the late spring and summer month.  The wildfires really added color to the evening sun setting slowly into the western sky.

Have a great afternoon and make it a great evening.

Best regards from The Q

Our most beautiful sunsets are also during wildfires. Maybe those beautiful sunsets are Mother Nature's way of apologizing for the wildfires.

Hi Rebekak -

Indeed they turned out amazing and the sunsets were actually 100 times more beautiful in person.  It's very sad that such beauty came from such devastation.

Those are spectacular, John. We lived in LA during some of the huge fires there and we noticed that the sky was awesome then too.

HI Marco -

You are right sir pollutants do cause many side effects in the atmosphere.  I guess the only positive thing I can think of are amazing and brilliant sunsets.

Hope you make it a great day on the coast.

Hi Toni -

Yes with you being in LA you must have seen some awesome sunsets too.  Sad that it is caused from such devastation.  I guess it's just Mother Natures way of letting us know there is a silver lining and to keep the faith.

Best regards from The Q
