The weekend is almost here, and I'm posting my Weekend Fun, Knoxville Style posts a day early. If you love Festivals, we have FESTIVALS for you this weekend.
Let's start with GreekFest 2011, which started today! GreekFest 2011 will be held Sept. 23-25 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Kingston Pike.
On Saturday, Sept.24 is the HoLa Festival 2011. Celebrating Latino culture, HoLa Festival will be along Gay Street and West Depot Ave., from 11am to 8pm.
Also on Sept. 24 is the 5th Dandridge Scots-Irish Festival. Starting at 10 am in downtown Dandridge, the Dandridge Scots-Irish Festival celebrates the Scottish & Iirish heritage in Appalachia.
But, wait, we're not done!
Also on tap this weekend is Townsend Days, on Sept. 23-24, note this is the name for several events during the weekend at 4 different areas in Townsend and along Lamar Alexander Parkway. These include John Sevier Days at Marble Springs State Historic Site; Old Timers Day in Cades Cove (The Mill at Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains National Park). And finally, rounding out the weekend's Festivals is the Lenoir City Downtown Street Festival. In downtown Lenoir City, they will be hosting a Classic Car show, as well as live music, food, and crafts.
