Why Doesn't My Phone Ring?

Why Doesn't My Phone Ring?

I love being a REALTOR® and helping people buy and sell homes on the San Francisco Peninsula and in Silicon Valley. 2011 has been an awesome year, full of successes and many, many hours of work -- and we have 3 months still to go.

This week I hit the wall. Maybe it was because I left my work routine behind while attending the California Association of Realtors® annual meetings; maybe it was because allergies are making my eyes red and itchy; maybe its because I need a vacation! Whatever the reasons, I found myself attending to only the time-critical parts of my business.

  • blank screen on smartphoneI didn't pick up the phone to follow up leads
  • I didn't make the calls to see how financing pre-approvals are going
  • I didn't make all the calls I normally do to other agents who have shown my listings

And this week my phone didn't ring much. My screen is blank. Hmmmmm......

Enough! I'm ready to jump back into the game, and know just where to start. Hope you're in the the game too!

Nice post! I find that a vacation that recharges my batteries often pays for itself in terms of future production.

I do Real Estate like I played polo-to WIN!

I welcome the non-ringing phone.  Gives me time to get the Palm Springs Valley real estate maintenance biz my full attention.  If it lasts..time to worry.  But, a few quiet days now and then are good!  Welcome back to Realtiy..hope you enjoyed your quiet time.

Hello, Lottie . . . I found out that one of the best rules in my business is that ~ if I work, I make money.  If I slack on the things that I need to do, then there comes a lack of business that is usually a result of not taking care of things.  Good post.

Finding ways to do more with less steps, new methods from education in an ever changing real estate rodeo means day at a time, pace yourself. If the phone is not ringing in, use it to ring out, connect, touch buyers and sellers. It does go both ways and getting out of the office, out in the community where the listings live is critical too!

You need to get away from time to time so don't fret. I like losing my phone from time to time. That always works maybe for a short time but the rest is wonderful. I guess we all get that way at conventions though.

Lottie, Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves, and ultimately those we serve, it step back and take a break from it all.  Working as many hours as we do can take a toll.  I've hit a few walls these past few weeks myself.  Our minds and bodies need rejuvenation.
