Palm variety

We have been studying palm trees lately to incorporate into a logo for one of our clients.  Once you start researching and focus on something, it constantly keeps appearing in your view.  Here is a variety of palms softening a wall, and i particularly liked the flat fan shaped ones.  I took this photo in Honolulu on our way to explore the Ala Moana Shopping Center.

Happy Saturday, Cheers Ron & Alexandra

Hi Alexandra-I too like the fan shaped ones the best. I remember when my Mom went to Fla the first time by car, after we crossed over into Fla she wanted to know where all the palms trees were, Love tha you are sharing your pictures with us.

Palm trees are associated with tropical locals and exotic vacations because we don't have them here...Always a good thing to be in the presence of palm trees!

Ron & Alexandra,

Beautiful photo; I too am a big fan of palms. I don't believe I've seen the flat fan shaped palm on the "Mainland." Freeze tolerance is a real consideration in Northern CA.

The first fan palm I had seen had me made me think that man was involved in it's woven matrix somehow.  It didn't take too much study to determine that feat was accomplished by a much higher power.

Sharon,

Thanks for pointing out the emotional association with palm trees.  I did not think of that, as it seems to have always been part of may life. A

The flat ones always make me think of Egyptian kings on thrones with slaves waving the palms over them to keep them cool. I love the look of them. Thanks for giving us a new view!

I don't know if it's because palm trees represent endless sun and blue-green waters, and LUXURIOUS vacation getaways, but I LOVE palm trees!  And you're right, I am particularly drawn to the flat leaf ones.

Toni,

Great call on that one, I certainly did not think of them.  Thanks for coming up with that one, it make perfect sense, especially when you think of the design of ceiling fans. A
