5th-6th Grade Football: Hood River Tsunami Faced Hood River Blue Saturday And Blew Them Away

You just can't beat it when the VERY FIRST play of the entire game ends in a 50+ yard run and touchdown by the suppossed underdogs. The crowd was stunned and estatic as Tsunami team quarterback, Patrick Estes, nimbly dodged player after player to run the ball straight to the endzone. The rest of the game was much harder fought. The score remained 8 to 0 through most of the game, as the amazing Tsunami held the Blue at bay, at one point even holding them to their own 2-yard line for FOUR PLAYS. Then within the last two minutes of the game, Tsunami running back Andrew Hall scored a second touchdown to secure the win for his team at 16 to 0. The amazing Tsunami remains undefeated this season. Next weekend they will face the third Hood River Team Green in Goldendale.

Our son, Ben, plays for the Hood River Tsunami, #20, in white and blue. Mel took these photos... the first three of that amazing first play touchdown.

I've been able to watch a couple of this ages games recently because our best friends daughter is a cheer leader and when they have that ball, you couldn't convince them they aren't NFL bound! It is actually a lot of fun to watch.

Hey Todd,
You are right - the games are fun to watch; having a kid playing on the team does make it more stressful.  We want him and the team to do well.  When Ben's team stopped them on the goal line five times you would have thought it was the Super Bowl.  The parents get pretty competitive too since they see each other every practice (same field, same time and they scrimmage against each other every practice).

The games before and after our son's game are less stressful as we don't have the emotional involvement.
