By

In America someone is diagnosed with Breast Cancer every 2.5 minutes.   debra walsh real estateEvery day.  Every month.  Every year.

What a unique way to make a difference on the most important day in someone's life!  Every girl dreams of that special day and that special gown.  Brides against Breast Cancer has received more than 50,000 wedding gown donations with an estimated value of over 4 million dollars.

More than half of these gowns are new DESIGNER gowns directly from designers, manufacturers and bridal retailers.  If you are looking to donate gowns, slips or veils that are from 2005 or newer, you too can help make someone's dream wedding become a reality.

Hi Debra,

Very interesting!

I don't quite make the connection.

I guess a bride donates her gown just because it is a good cause?

Then the group sells the gown to fund their activities?

Interesting

Breast cancer is a great cause and this definitely sounds like a fun way to contribute. Thanks for sharing the information.

That is quite a statistic. The rate of diagnosis. Breast cancer is indeed a great cause.

I never heard of this...what a great idea!  I laughed when I saw "2005 or newer".  I guess they don't want my old 1978 dress, LOL!

So do they sell the gowns to raise money to fight cancer? If so, this is a really cool idea!! :)))

Debbie, I had not heard about this before, but think it is a great idea.  They should be more proactive with advertising this.

Debbie, I agree with George, and so I am going to reblog this.  Thanks.  The statistics are horrifying.

Phil-Joni- I believe these are gowns for women with cancer who can't afford to buy a gown "of their dreams".   They probably do sell gowns here there too.

Lisa- Thanks for commenting Lisa!

Cal- Yes and it  hits someone everyday.  One of my friends was diagnosed this week.

Sharon- LOL I guess it is because then they don't know what the heck they might get if they didn't make it fairly new.

Nick- LMAO

George-
Yes I had not heard about this before either.

Suzanne-Thank you and yes it should be more well known.

Hannah- Thanks for the reblog!
