Smooth Showings Thanks to the Efforts of Agents in Neighboring MLS

What a day!  I showed 11 houses near downtown Waynesville today.  They were all within a 4 mile radius and it went very smoothly thanks to the cooperation of the neighboring Haywood County MLS agents.

keys Living in Balsam, I am right on the Jackson/Haywood County Line.  We've owned a business in Waynesville and therefore are very familiar and comfortable with showing property in Waynesville.  Because we aren't members of the Haywood County MLS, we wouldn't dream of listing properties there but have had success with our buyers there.  Other agents in our own Northern Jackson MLS have complained that the Waynesville agents made it very difficult to show those Haywood County listings but I find that really hard to believe.

Opening the door to Waynesville Real EstateThe Waynesville agents were all very gracious and accomodating making sure I had access to the houses , I've given them my thanks when I called with feedback.  I just wanted to put it in writing that the sellers of the Waynesville listings should all be very happy with the efforts their listing agents made to help a neighboring agent try to sell their house.

I would extend the same courtesy to any agent from other MLS who was making the effort to show and sell our listings.

Do unto others...  One might wonder why anyone might think they wouldn't treat you just as they did, but I do know some people are not so accomodating.  Fortunately, there are more good apples than bad and I know you'll return the courtesy in kind when they come visiting.

Hi Kristine, it gets better all the time.  There was a time when an agent from outside the county would be treated like an intruder.  Glad people are getting over that!

Hi Feng Shui women, Yessssss it issssss, lol

Hi Peter, the Golden Rule is always the best route and I agree with you.  There are more good and gracious agents than not.

It is hard to show that many houses in a day without the help and cooperation of all the great people in our industry, there are some great agents out there.

so totally jealous.  There is NOT that kind of cooperation at our neighboring MLS.  Perhaps I should email them a link to your post.

Cooperating with agents from outside the MLS is the only way to go, although I know it often doesn't happen. The goal is to sell the home and not cooperating hurts the seller, in MHO. Great that you were able to show so many homes.

Don't you think your last statement is exactly WHY you received the welcome and assistance you did???  Sometimes, it's as simple as that ... you get what you give.

Best of luck with your transactions ...

Gene

Hi Liz, the hard part would be to swing paying two sets of MLS dues for the office!  The agents definitely helped me out a lot.

Hello Mary, it seems that with the recent economic circumstances we are left with a much better ratio of good agents to not so good agents.

Tammy, you should definitely email them a link to the post...except then they might get it in their uncooperative minds that they should participate in AR.  Remember, its your special secret...shhhh.

Anne, can you believe?  11 houses and we were finished by 1pm.  Zip zap!

Hi Will, no kidding.  If only everyone would subscribe to our business model we could have the country healed in no time.

Hey Gene, uhm...welll...duh!?!?  you get what you give and then you give some more.  Thanks for the wishes and I have a feeling that you are a practitioner of the nice approach too.

I love Waynesville, wish Regional would get voted in. The several counties here are so close and we would all benefit with the added coverage. Glad they welcomed you with open arms.

You are preaching to the choir, Ms Boulay-Seibert!  We've been lobbying for the same thing for years.  The Haywood agents could not have been kinder.
