A Beautiful Autumn Day in the Quaint Mountain Town of Estes Park, Co

I feel that there is no place as peaceful and beautiful at this time of year than in the mountains of Colorado.

We were fortunate enough to spend a Sunday with a group of 40 of our good friends in the mountains of Estes Park and one of the best parts of the day is no cell phone reception!

The picnic grounds allowed us to explore the hiking trails, long walks around the fishing lake and BBQ pits.Estes Park lake

We all brought dishes to share so there was plenty of food to go around.
Games were played and we had music to dance to,.Since the group are all dancers we started the line dancing in the dirt with tennis shoes on.

And best of all we got to visit with each other and catch up with our lives.
Until next year when we do it for the 4th annual picnic.......

Chris and Patty,

Thanks for this post.  Estes Park is where I grew up and graduated from High School.  Such a neat town.  Love to see the pics of Lake Estes and Downtown.  Is that also a picture of Sprague Lake up in Rocky Mountain National Park?  Did you have a change to get to Chicago's Best (Right next to Lonigans) in Downtown?  Great food.  They have the best Gyros!!!!!  I am going to try and get up there this weekend to seen the color.  Thanks again for the post!

Hi Brandon,  Yes, this is Sprague Lake.  We didn't get time to spend in the town walking into the restaurants or neat shops. I took pictures of the fire truck and store front from a moving car. They don't have the taffy shop anymore but some of the shops are still the same. I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures.

Thanks again for the post.  I know that Laura's is still there, but after they had the fire at the Park mall, some business went out.  Bad deal up there.  Thanks Again
