This has absolutely nothing to do with real estate...

I heard on the news this morning that another teenager, a 14 year old boy committed suicide in upstate New York. Why? Because he could no longer endure the constant and heartless harrassing and bullying he was receiving. He dealt with it in school, in his own neighborhood and on line.

There was video of this kid and he was such a seemingly sweet guy. He was good looking, caring, made good grades in school, was an only child and he was gay.

The whole bullying thing so needs to be gotten under control. There needs to be tougher laws for the offenders. Someone said bullying is akin to hate crimes and it is.

I can't even imagine the heart wrenching pain that this kid's parents must be going through. As a parent, myself I know that if your child is in any kind of pain...physical or emotional, your heart cracks in half. My son was bullied when he was in middle school. And, I can only thank the stars above that he is now an incredibly well adjusted, successful and loving, soon-to-be 28 year old.

So whenever we have an opportunity to speak out or prevent or do anything else we can in defense of victims of bullying please do so. It's all so very sad.

Oh Donna, this is such sad news. Such a senseless loss. I do talk a lot to my teenager about how these next few years will go by fast and in a few years she won't even remember the names of the nastiest kids in the class.

IMHO * this is a PARENTAL and TEACHER issue and is not one of PUBLIC CONTROL.  Children need to have their VALUE and SELF-ESTEEM REINFORCED at HOME and in SCHOOL. Like the kids who did the killings at Columbine, there are loads of signals along the way in these situations and parents and teachers need to be aware.
