I played paintball today.  It was a blast, I have played before used to do it all the time in college, but I got away from the game as I got a little older and I moved away from my regular game.  I got a chance to play today with my brother and a bunch of guys from his work and some of their sons.

I had so much fun and we all played as a team using hands signals and other forms of non-verbal communication.  We were able to beat the other team in several different scenarios.  i was able to take the lead on a couple assaults and it was fun to lead the team into battle much like a do on a daily basis in my office,

Granted, what we did out there was not like what we do in the office, if we screw up in the office we could cost someone a new home.  If we screwed up playing paintball you got pelted and I got a few welts on my arms and back to prove that I either did not make the right decsion or I put myself into the line of fire for the good of team. Basically, what I do in the office.  I put myself in the line of fire.

Teamwork, we operated as a machine out there.  We were there to capture the flag, defend or take the castle or just flat eliminate the other team.  I would move left and the man in the middle would protect my flank and I would protect his.  If I moved up the middle the guys to the right or the left would clear a path for me. If I fell behind and I could be taken out and guys would be left without someone to protect them.

I watched the other team push forward and fall back.  They would break down and we could hit them hard and watch them fall apart.  If you want to be successful you have to act as a team and attack moving forward and hard.  The only way to WIN is too be a TEAM.

Be a Team and Win.

I saw this post yesterday and I wanted to comment on it, but did not have the time......

I was going to enter the Navy at the tender age of 19...... I LOVED military tactics and always sought to live my life by those rules...teamwork, self sacrifice, loyalty, honor....... The Kingdom of God also works by those same principles...and more....

I also have played paint-ball and loved it....... I always encouraged my teammates to stay in communication and stick together..."watch each others backs.."

It is amazing what you can accomplish with those simple principles in use.....

=-)
