Tablet sales are heating up and when you can go to the world's largest online retailer (Amazon) to buy their new entry, sales might actually start smoking. It was announced today they are officially launching this new product but I went to their website and it isn't posted yet.
It was announced today that the Amazon Fire will be an Android based tablet with a 7" display. It won't melt the iPad because it isn't as nice, but for less than half price, I am sure it will sell well. Some things it doesn' offer compared to the iPad include no camera or microphone.
The next six months will be very interesting to watch as major companies in the "pad wars" continue to battle. HP's Touchpad threw in their towel after less than two months on the market. Sony's Playbook will be watching this Fire closely since it probably most resembles their product.
