Stagging your home to sell

Staging your home to sell

Staging your home is important when selling. You want to present the home in a way that makes prospective buyers see themselves living in your home.  Oftentimes sellers take it upon themselves to stage their home instead of seeking the advice from a professional.

Such was the case of this seller. While showing my new buyer client their house this week we were greeted by this decorative piece hanging from the doorway of the kitchen. Apparently, something was lost in translation..its staging your home to sell not staging your home to SMELL!

Here are some helpful tips to stage your home to sell, not smell

Best smell that everyone can agree on is the "clean" smell which one finds with pine sol or Lysol...It leaves one thinking in a positive way

Unfortunately, some of the "cleaning product" smells, will leave my buyers with the thought of, "What are they trying to hide?".  There are other attractive smells to generate a positive feeling or sense of hominess.  Like baked cookies!

Well this is a story that will go down in the books. When I read the headline I didn't image that I would see that picture, I thought you would reference some rotten fruit.

You must have been in shock!
