Way overdue: another gratuitous cat picture

It's been a long time since I posted a gratuitous cat photo to my blog. So when I managed to get a photo of Kitty looking up at the camera lens, for once, I thought I'd better take advantage of it.

I spotted Kitty in a neighborhood I was driving through while previewing some homes for clients in 2004. It took me 20 minutes to calm her down enough to catch her and take her to the nearest vet. Although the vet said she was basically healthy, she was skinny and was missing most of the hair from her flanks down to her legs. After I took her home, I put her on a special diet for stressed-out felines, and within three months she looked healthy and beautiful, like she does now. I only feed her expensive, high-protein cat food and she is indoors all the time now.

Why "Kitty"? At the time, my husband disapproved of human names for cats. I wanted to call her Simone, but the only name she answers to is Kitty.

Hi Robin,

Great photo. I love it when our pets cooperate when we want a nice photo of them.  I have a toy poodle and it usually takes a half a dozen shots to get a good one....lol.

Thanks, fellow pet lovers! I'm so glad I found Kitty. She is quirky, but very affectionate, as you can tell by her loving expression in this photo. You can tell, right?!

Hi Robin,

What a lovely post and I think Kitty is beautiful. Rescuing animals is so important as many pet owners are not responsible and abandon them. I have 3 rescue dogs from bank owned properties. I cannot imagine leaving a dog or cat in a house or in the backyard and just moving on. People can always take them to an animal shelter or call a rescue shelter. I am sure Kitty has given you great pleasure in reward for coming to a wonderful home and family.
