Colorado School of Mines was founded in 1874 in Golden, Co. The current student body is 4800 including undergraduates and graduates. The student to faculty ratio is 15 : 1. The school specializes in research of new frontiers in resource exploration, extraction and processing, renewable energy production.
In 2010, Colorado School Mines received awards totaling more than $53.6 million with more than one third funded by private industry and half by federal agencies.
