Detroit Lions Fans - Livingston County Style

I'll start by saying that I'm not a huge football fan.  I'm much more of a baseball and hockey guy, but driving through a Howell neighborhood last week this display sure did catch my eye.  Because my digital camera is usually pretty close, I slowed down and took a couple of photos.

The Detroit Lions have been perennial under-achievers and coming into this season I would never have thought they'd be at five wins and two losses at week seven - but they are!  This apparently long-suffering fan decided to combine some Halloween fun with a sports message. Will he be responsible for breaking the Lions' jinx?  Is this all that has been needed for so many years?  Or is it truly the year for our Detroit Lions?

Lions Fan Waits For Super Bowl

I have many fond childhood memories of watching the Lions play from under blankets in chilly weather at the old Tiger Stadium, seeing them play at the cavernous Silverdome, and some recent good memories of games at the wonderful new Ford Field.  Even a self-professed 'non-football fan' wishes the team well.  Go Lions!!  You'll reclaim more than this one fan.

The picture cracked me up :-)   Yesterday while driving home I tuned in to the last few minutes of the Lions game.  (I haven't done that in years!!!)  I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they won again.   Who knows?  This could be the year!

Go Lie-Downs, I mean Lions!  Like they say, a win is a win.  See you in the playoffs!

I'm thinking this guy may be responsible for breaking the long-term Lions jinx!  Something sure is different with this year's team.  Shaun Rogers going 66 yards for a TD????  Wow. GO LIONS!!!
