I love living in Lancaster. You may love living in Maine or Manayunck; Birmingham or Bristol; Denver or Des Moines; San Antonio or Salem. But I love living in Lancaster. This past month reminded me of some the reasons I love living where I do.
I have seen us face floods, but remain resilient. I have witnessed the vibrancy of restaurants and small businesses which provide jobs. 30 posts in 30 days have helped me understand the beauty of Lancaster. 54 posts over these 30 days has kept me hopping, but reminded me on why I love living in Lancaster.
Two posts have made the first page of Google and even hit the number one spot. Flooding in Lancaster and Lady Gaga in Lancaster, seemingly innocuous posts which would not make anyone’s top ten list for great content, spiked to the top. I learned cooping the hot local news drove traffic to my blog, now the key is to keep adding good content. I also discovered first hand it is better to be discovered than to be good.
The learning from 30 days of blogging is that I need to write about what interests me and I will attract some others who have similar interest. The posts I am proud of may not draw much attention, like my post on forgiveness or my communication series.
I had my first features this month. I was surprised, but realized I had posted regarding the buyer agency agreements, discovering this is a hot button. These hot buttons seem to interest me less than most. I do business in a way that makes sense to me, but love learning from those with different perspectives.
No matter what occurs, I know I want to share my voice, being authentic and describing why I love living in Lancaster. What have you learned?
