Last week I visited Washington, DC. I use to live near that area, so I didn't have the desire to do the usual tours. Since I was with some friends who never visited our nation's capital, I threw in the towel and decided to venture into the city with them. Well on Friday, it poured buckets of rain. Living in California, I like the word, dry! The streets were slippery. Thank goodness I had a bright yellow rain poncho. In spite of the weather, we had a great day. We learned that the best way to get around in the DC area was to take the subway. It's easy to learn and there is always someone in the terminal to direct you.
Upon returning back to the hotel, we had a picture taking moment. Almost simultaneously we three screamed, "Look, a rainbow!" We stopped the car, jumped out and quickly snapped a picture before this magnificent wonder faded into the sky! A double rainbow! What a treat to see towards the end of our day.
Is it true that at the end of the rainbow, there is a pot of gold? Seeing such a wonderful living picture was worth more than gold to me. Remember always stop and take the time to cherish the little things in life! God made that special moment for me.
