Fhoto Friday: A Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow?

By

Last week I visited Washington, DC.  I use to live near that area, so I didn't have the desire to do the usual tours.  Since I was with some friends who never visited our nation's capital, I threw in the towel and decided to venture into the city with them.  Well on Friday, it poured buckets of rain.  Living in California, I like the word, dry!  The streets were slippery.  Thank goodness I had a bright yellow rain poncho.  In spite of the weather, we had a great day.  We learned that the best way to get around in the DC area was to take the subway.  It's easy to learn and there is always someone in the terminal to direct you.

Upon returning back to the hotel, we had a picture taking moment.  Almost simultaneously we three screamed, "Look, a rainbow!"  We stopped the car, jumped out and quickly snapped a picture before this magnificent wonder faded into the sky!  A double rainbow!  What a treat to see towards the end of our day.

Is it true that at the end of the rainbow, there is a pot of gold?  Seeing such a wonderful living picture was worth more than gold to me.  Remember always stop and take the time to cherish the little things in life!  God made that special moment for me.

This was a memorable moment. Cherish the little things in life.

@Andrea:  Thank you Andrea for commenting.  Yes.  You are correct.  A double rainbow was really spectacular.  We should have hopped into the car and drove towards the end of the rainbow for that pot of gold.  We were so mesmerized by the beautiful colors.

@Joni:  That you for commenting Joni.  After the rain, we received a double blessing.  It's a way of God reminding me that there is a rainbow at the end of every tribulation.

Have a great Sunday Joni.  Thank you again.

@John Q:  Yes.  We had a pleasant surprise after walking in the rain in Washington DC all day.  We perked up immediately when we saw it.

Great picture! I'm with you. I like the word dry. I came to San Diego on April 27, 1993. On April 30, the weatherperson announced that for 90 consecutive days they had no rain. I decided to stay.

I completely agree with you, it's the simple things that really bring joy not material things or complications.

@Russel:  San Diego is a beautiful city.  The weather is perfect throughout the entire year.  I use to visit friends in Rancho Bernardo.  I would always end up on the beach for a short walk or bicycle in the residential areas for exercise.  Enjoy your day Russel and thank you for posting.

@Wandanna:  I agree with you Wandanna.  When we saw the rainbow, we started acting like little kids.  We all yelled, "Look, look, that's a big rainbow."  We stopped the car, jumped out and started taking pictures!  That was the highlight of our day.

Thank you for dropping by.  Have a great day.

Wow, Joanne, you captured the light just right. You can always tell a fake rainbow photo if the sun is behind the rainbow, you know, but this photo is beautiful.
