Veteran’s Park
5211 Arroyo Rd.
Livermore, CA 94550
So why is it called Veteran’s Park anyway? It’s a proximity thing. The Veteran’s Hospital is just a stone’s throw from this park. And while the park may not look like much to the average observer, it’s really the second entrance to one of Livermore most visited park, Sycamore Grove. The huge 772 acre park winds its way down Wetmore Rd, ending at Arroyo. Biking and hiking trails meander through natural vegetation, and a 2.5 mile walking/biking path connects both ends of the trail. Beneath the shade trees on the Veteran’s Park side, you’ll find picnic tables and barbeque pits as well as restroom buildings. This area is available for rent through LARPD.
At this end of the park, many of the natural varieties of wildlife have been ear-marked with placards describing the various species of plants throughout the park.
Note: there is a $5 for vehicles at either end of the park.
