Did you catch the article about the upcoming North Carolina State Fair in the News & Observer last week? The fair itself will be held at the state fairgrounds in Raleigh (right next to Cary!) from October 13 to 23. To make room for setup crews and the many vendors and attractions always found at this annual event, the popular flea market that sometimes operates on the fairgrounds has already been shuttered until November.
Follow the link to the News & Observer archive of the fair story for a list of the eleven locations now selling discount state fair tickets. With advance purchase, you can save $2.00 per adult ticket and even more than that for a sheet of pre-paid ride coupons.
Many of us look forward to the fair all year, because it offers so much (crafts, exhibits, rides, livestock, concerts, and more fried food than even an Iron Chef would know what to do with).
