Constant Contact Cancelled My Account- Without Notice!!

I have used Constant Contact for about 3 years without any issues at all. Recently I changed companies and had to open a new Constant Contact account, I had been using my CRM to handle my drip campaigns but had to close that with the new change.

In the meantime I opened a new Constant Contact account because the old one had been more associated with the company I was with at the time, because my new CRM with website was not completly done yet I needed to send out a alert to my database of clients so I would not  lose anyone for lack of communication so I thought it would be a good idea to upload the list from my "Opt-In" CRM to constant contact and send them an email.

In my email to my clients I made the comment that interest rates were in the low 4% range and that it was a great time to apply, and provided links to the new website,  I sent this out to about 700 contacts.

Constant Contact Closed my account with no notice because of 2 things, 1. I mentioned mortgage rates were low and people should apply ( we do not provide Mortages ) and 2. 4 people out of 700 reported my email as spam...Yes 4 people reported my email as spam!

I made every attempt to plead my case over the phone with them yesterday on the phone with no luck, they claim that they only accept 1 spam per 1000 people on your list and you can't mention mortgages or rates at all...HELLO, mortgage rates are a vital part of our industry Constant Contact!

For years as a Real Estate Sales Manager I have been training agents and telling them about Constant Contact as a great tool for their business but now I am done...

Who does Constant Contact think they are for preventing me or you for sharing Mortgage information relevent to home buyers needs? also being marked as Spam is just part of life, many people just click the spam button when they want to stop getting emails, it doesn't mean that they once didn't ask for the emails...

Does anybody know of another service that is good?

Not familiar with Constant Contact, but will check it our. I'm not sure there is any one solution. Thank you for the post.

I have tried constant contact in the past with no problems but no longer use it. Hope you can get this issue resolved to your satisfaction.

I just found MailChimp and it looks like it has a lot more than Constant Contact and it is FREE for up to 2000 email addresses.....Maybe Constant Contact did me a favor..lol

That does sound like a bad experience and I have heard of many at all the ESPs we integrate with our SyncApps like MailChimp, ExactTarget, Constant Contact, Yesmail, VerticalResponse and others. ~Clint @cazoomi
