Active Rain & The Friends You Make

Real Estate Agent with Ad Astra Realty BR00222587

jugglingI admit it.  I've let my Active Rain duties slide these past few weeks.  Not intentionally, mind you.  Just as a casualty of this crazy business of real estate investing and authoring several different blogs.   You see, while much of the country is down as far as real estate values and business volume are concern here in Kansas City I'm running around like crazy trying to keep up with investors trying to capitalize on the concerns of other people.  But that is a whole other blog.

Over the course of 2007 (since the last week of January) I have been blogging here on Active Rain about 4-6 times per week.  I still get excellent traffic on this blog that lead to phone calls that lead to clients that lead to homes sold.  And while I have written it before it's worth noting again, the other thing that this particular blog has led to is friends.

On Saturday I received this email from Fran White:

What's up... where have you been?
Haven't seen you on AR lately, hope everything is ok.

You know, I've never actually met Fran.  But we've commented on each other's blogs for months now.  We have a common interest in sharing our thoughts and our ideals.  We both work the Kansas City real estate market.  And like I have done in the past, she has reached out to see where one of her friends was.

I think that's great.

Again, it never occurred to me when I started blogging that I would be making friendships with competitors right here in Kansas City.  Or for that matter friends with real estate bloggers across the country in cities like San Diego, Washington DC, Austin and Charlotte.  I think it's what they call a serendipity.

Yes.  I blog for the dollars.  Truth be told, most of you do as well.  Or at least for the hope of the dollars.  But I sure enjoy the friendships, too.

Hey Chris:  Glad to see you back in the GROOVE... :0) Yes, although we haven't met... we just seem to know one another, which is a good thing.  It's also one of the great things about AR.....the relationships you build.

Chris, I've wondered what happened to you. Your neglect is forgiven since you've been busy with business (is that a play on words?). I'm in San Diego so my ego tells me that reference was to me. Thanks friend.
