All Aboard -- Washington State Fundamentals of Home Inspection Training
I was reading through some old blogs from Steven Smith and found this one.
Here I am eating my pen and inspecting my third home during the 40 hour Field training section of home inspector training course at Bellingham Technical College back in July of 2009. I remember being in the crawl space of this home with My instructor Steven Smith and finding an active water leak, It was like finding the holy grail for a new home inspector.. And the home inspection career began.
New home inspectors, would be home inspectors, and those who are working in the field but are required to acquire 120 hours of fundamentals education prior to their being allowed to test and receive a license, have the opportunity to get that training in the near future. The next fundamentals course, the last one the school will offer prior to the September 1 date when many of the licensing rules become effective, gets underway at BTC on August 31, 2009.
That's right, the Bellingham Technical College state approved fundamentals of home inspection course, along with an extra week that provides 40 hours of field training, will begin in Bellingham on August 31, 2009. The program has been in existence for 15 years and many inspectors in Whatcom County and other parts of the state have participated in this training over the years.
For additional information, you may visit the BTC website. Bellingham Technical College is a part of the state community college and technical college system.
