#1 Customer Service Practice...EVER

By
Real Estate Agent with (Metro First Realty)

The #1 Customer Service Practice...Ever, has recently come to mind because I have been receiving the #1 WORST Customer Service Practice...EVER within the past week from several companies.

So what is
The #1 Customer Service Practice...Ever? SOLVING YOUR CLIENTS' PROBLEM!

balloons in air

This is a "no brainer" for most but it got me thinking, if this is the mantra for businesses and professionals, then why have I been receiving the worst customer service in the past week? The answer; it is NOT a "no brainer" for everyone.

When solving your clients' problems, don't argue, don't throw up smoke screens and most importantly, don't lay the blame at your clients' feet... EVER!!! This is not their area of expertise, it is OURS. Our clients have hired us because this is what we DO!!!

What we do becomes rote, second nature and mundane...which translates into: EASY...Everybody KNOWS THIS!! To our clients, these day to day activities are new, unfamiliar and uncomfortable...which translates into: HARD...WHO DOES THIS!!! ie; keeping their home clean everyday for potential showings, NOT opening new credit BEFORE the house closes, etc.

The
1# BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE PRACTICE...EVER, is to solve your clients' problems. Solve them with a smile on your face and attitude free. No arguing, no blaming, just explanation and education. Moreover, if you don't have the answer, tell them you don't know and will find out. Remove their stress, our job is to provide the best customer service by solving their problem.

We are the "Answer Man", we are the solution to the problem not an addition to it, otherwise, WE-WOULD-NOT-BE-NEEDED. Now let's go out there and act like the
#1 Superb Customer Service Professionals we are!!

Solving their problems puts a smile on THEIR face and the memory of a positive experience lives on!  Customer service is what we do and when I hear agents arguing with their clients rather than doing what is needed to solve a problem, I wonder how they stay in business.  Great post and great reminder to continue to work at offering the best customer service by active problem solving!

If we can't solve their problems, why would they need us anyway? Nobody goes to the ER because they feel great.

Debe: It has always been amazing to me to hear agents argue with their client. We are here to assist, educate and move the transaction along as smoothly as possible.

J Phil: You said it! Love the ER analogy. :D

Wow Valerie, that is sooo true in our business.  Customer service IS what we provide.  I 'suggested' this.  We as real estate professional need to sometimes be reminded about this.

Wandanna: Thanks! A smooth transaction is tantamount to our profession. Not always a reality but our adding to a problem is NOT what we are hired to do.

Steve: We ARE customer service. Sometimes we can forget this! Thanks for the suggest. :)
