98 Days and Counting

I always enjoy Patricia Feager's post.  They are always well written and quite inspiring.  She wrote this great post on what to focus on as 2011 winds down.  I also liked her thinking on how these practices will bring wealth to all areas of our lives for the future.

Please read and enjoy and leave your comments for Patricia for she is so deserving!

There are only 98 more days; then 2011 will be gone forever, and the New Year begins. I am spending the next five days in September to savor the memories of autumn. I will embrace the beginning of change. Next comes October, an opportunity to harvest my thoughts, do good things, and prepare for things to come. In November, I will have 31 days to be thankful for all that I have been blessed with since the day of my birth, including what came before me. December winds will change the course of my life, but I will be prepared to come what may.

The road has been long but not long enough – there’s so much more I need to do. I desire the best for everyone; I am grateful to all of those who have crossed my path, including people I’ve come to know and appreciate as a direct result of Active Rain. I will treasure my last 98 days of 2011. This will be a time for reflection, strategic planning, and implementation of goals I set for myself in 2011. I’ve decided I’m going to use the next 98 days as my bank account to count on my future. By choice, I’m going to fall in love deeper with every day I have left.

The list of virtues that I will concentrate on during the next three months includes the following:

Acceptance:  I cannot change the past; however, I can decide how I want to move forward.

Accountability: I have an obligation to accept responsibility and to account for my actions.

Ambition: I have a strong desire to achieve success, and maintain a quality of life.

Beauty: I look to find beauty in all things in nature, respectfully, I will cherish every day.

Benevolence:  I will do well in everything I can for all the right reasons.

Caring: I will care about everything I do, paying attention to details.

Charity: I will be helpful to others in need.

Commitment: I will firmly carry out my purpose.

Confidence: I will have confidence in myself and keep my faith alive.

Courtesy: I will be respectful, considerate, and mindful while I listen to other people’s needs.

Creativity: I will exercise my right to be creative, and find new ways to improve.

Discretion: I will continue to maintain confidentiality and keep my word.

Eloquence: I will strive to be impeccable with my words, including the written word.

Enthusiasm:  I will find ways to be joyful, and not let outside factors change my attitude.

Focus: I will stay focused and flexible to achieve my goals.

Forgiveness: I will have the courage to forgive even when it’s hard.

Fortitude: I will stay strong when there is adversity.

Gratitude: I will remain thankful for all that I have.

Happiness: I will decide to be happy at the break of every day, and not worry about tomorrow.

Honesty: I will not lie, cheat nor be deceptive.

Hope: I will maintain faith, hope, and charity to save the children.

Humbleness: I will not be arrogant.

Humor: I will find joy and happiness, and enjoy the humor more every day.

Integrity: I will be more understanding, less judgmental; stay true to my values.

Knowledge: I will seek and impart knowledge to others.

Obedience: I will be true to my heart’s desires.

Prudence: I will be wise and careful of conduct.

Purposefulness: I will have a definite goal every day.

Reliability: I will keep my commitments.

Respect: I will respect all people, the plant, and gifts of nature.

Responsibility: When I accept responsibility, I will be accountable.

Service: I will do good work that will benefit others.

Truthfulness: I will accurately describe what is real.

Zeal: With an ardor heart I will arrange my thoughts to make better decisions.

From now, until the day I die, I will be thankful for what I have and what I have done. Because I am only human, I may fail to do what I intended to do; however, I will not beat myself up. I will look forward to the next 98 days that 2011 has to offer and to new beginnings in 2012. Between now and then, my job is to make choices that are in the best interest of others. I will continue to focus on all the good that has come my way and I will look forward to the future without regrets. Time - I will make good use of my time here on earth.
