My Name is New Orleans
Join us in the Black Rock Reading Garden for a literary presentation by Arthur Pfister aka Professor ARTURO.
The program will involve an overview and practical demonstration of the language, traditions, art forms and politics of New Orleans, aka “The City That Care Forgot”.
An emphasis will be placed on historic and contemporary characteristics of the Big Easy and the need to aid and abet in the preservation of those aspects of the New Orleans experience that struggle to survive and endure the perils of modernity.
As a special treat there will be authentic New Orleans Gumbo prepared by Bridgeport City Librarian Scott Hughes.
