FTP for Mac - Filezilla is free
After making the switch from PC to Mac I found myself still using the old PC for doing my HTML and FTP-ing. It was getting pretty tiresome to fire up that old machine and wait... and wait. I don't quite know why I didn't figure it out long before now, but anyway now I have finally got my FTP up and running on the macbook pro. Hooray!
I downloaded Filezilla for mac, and it was FREE, you can't complain about that. You can also use a version for PC too. It works pretty smoothly and it wasn't hard to get it going, just like any other FTP application.
What was bugging me though was a way to quickly edit the text of the .html files. Every time I would go to open the file it would open in Safari. Well it was as simple as tweaking the preferences to always open that kind of file with text editor! Just a little click. How did I figure that out? Mac forums. It's so easy to ask a question and find the answer right there. Hooray for Mac forums. Ask and you will receive.
So, if you just made the big switch to Mac from PC, rest assured that you can still do your basic HTML coding and get down and dirty with your websites. Have fun.
